For 2020, a new year, the beginning of a new decade.

For 2020, a new year, the beginning of a new decade.

Just like most other women, at the beginning of every year, I take stock of the past year. I question myself for what went well what did not go so well, what
would I change and then I set goals for the new year.

In 2020, not only do we have a new year, but we have a new decade, so I am looking to set goals for the new decade, into the future, three years, five years
and even ten years. At the end of this decade, December 31, 2029, where do I see myself? And then I must ask myself, what am I doing to make this happen.
Let’s talk about setting goals. Through the many years of setting goals, and developing action plans, I felt something was missing. My “why” was not there. Why did I set goals, what was the real purpose of goal setting and what did I really want to accomplish?

I had an “aha” moment when I realized that my life goal is what truly is important to me, being aware of the woman I am becoming. This is my “why”. I set goals for my relationship with God, my health, my family, my business, my financial well-being, and other areas of my life to help me be the woman I want to be.

To borrow a quote from Jim Rohn, “We generally change ourselves for one of two reasons: inspiration or desperation.”

I choose inspiration. My life goal is my inspiration. I want to be fully engaged in becoming the woman I want to be.

So, for 2020 and the new decade, I am on a journey to establish my life goal and then segment my life into important areas of my life and set goals for these
areas.

I invite you to join me in such a journey.
